Učka Nature Park, which encompasses the Vela draga geomorphological nature monument, is managed by the Učka Nature Park Public Institution.
This institution was founded by the Government of the Republic of Croatia through the Decree about the establishment of the Učka Nature Park Public Institution (Narodne novine official gazette no. 96/99).
The institution started its work in September 2001.
The institution's governing body consists of the Administrative Board and the Director.
The Administrative Board consists of five members. These members are appointed by the Minister.

All the activities of the Public Institution are managed by the director who is appointed by the relevant minister.

The Nature Conservation Department is in charge of all professional activities regarding the protection, maintenance, conservation, use and promotion of Učka Nature Park; it is also responsible for the implementation of management activities, and monitoring the environment and animate and inanimate world within the park.
Promotion, Sales and Tourism Department

The Promotion, Sales and Tourism Department is in charge of all activities aimed at promoting the park and obtaining funds from sponsors and donors. It also organises and monitors all tourism-related and recreational activities in the park, receives visitors, provides guidance, and organises forums, symposiums, and other scientific and cultural-educational conferences.

The Park Ranger Service is in charge of supervising the park area in compliance with the Nature Protection Law and the rules of conduct within the park. The ranger service is authorised to take legal action against anyone not following the law or the internal rules of the park.
Technical And Maintenance Service
Florijan Tomc, MT, head of Technical and Maintenance Service
Technical And Maintenance Service is in charge of all technical activities to do with maintenance of the park's properties, vehicles and other equipment, roads and trails within the responsibility of the Public Institution, and other technical services. This department is also in charge of fire prevention measures.
