Učka Nature Park has been proclaimed in April 1999, which makes it one of the most recent Croatian parks and protected areas. In September of the same year, the Croatian Government, in accordance with the Nature Protection Law, founded the Public Institution to manage the Park, with the task of protection, conservation, promotion and use of the protected area of the Ucka Nature Park. The Public Institution started its operation in September 2001.

Main goals of the "Učka Nature Park" Public Institution are:
