In the Učka Nature Park, on a clearing between the villages of Vela Učka and Mala Učka, there is a designated picnic area, ideal for anyone wishing to spend a day outdoors in beautiful, protected nature. The picnic area features five rest areas with barbecues, which are available for rent (with prior reservation).

 

If you would like to rent a rest area with a barbecue:

  • By clicking on a specific rest area, a gallery will open. Select the desired rest area.

  • To check the availability of the selected rest area, send an email to info@pp-ucka.hr or call +385 51 770 100.

  • When sending an email, be sure to include the desired date, arrival time, your full name, and mobile phone number.

  • You will receive an email with information on availability, a reservation confirmation, and instructions for key collection and payment.

  • Keys are picked up and returned at the reception desk of the Poklon Visitor Centre during its working hours.

  • The rest-area-with-barbecue rental service includes the selected rest area, a grill grate, a fire extinguisher, a bag of charcoal, and a waste bag.

  • There is a designated parking area next to the picnic site, and parking on grassy areas is not permitted.

  • The rental price for a rest area with a barbecue is 20 EUR per day.

Did you know?

The griffon vulture feeding site

…that griffon vultures, endangered in Croatia, are often flying over Učka in search for food? Once they were nesting here, but today their northern-Adriatic population is decreasing and in order to help in their preservation, a feeding site was build in Učka Nature Park, popularly called 'griffon vulture restaurants'.

The „Two towers“ trail

…that in 2018 a trail named „Two towers“ was established, which connects the town tower in Lovran with the Vojak tower on Učka? The trail goes through the existing hiking trail, and alongside there are educational boards that inform visitors on the flora and fauna of Učka.

The Roman cheese

…that it is traditional on Učka to produce the „molded“ sheep cheese of distinctive taste since the Roman Empire time? Its production was standardized due to its use in the nutrition of the Roman legions, while today's cheese made on Učka doesn't differ much from its antique ancestor.

Slavic mythology

…that the Mošćenička Draga's canyon used to be the scenery of sacred beliefs for the first Slavic settlers on the Kvarner area? The local toponyms like Perun, Babin grob and Voloski kuk witness about the old Slavic cult of Perun.
