Pustolovne utrke Adventure races can include various disciplines such as hiking, mountaineering, mountain-biking, rowing etc. and are very popular among people who like sporting activities in natural surroundings. Every year, Učka Nature Park hosts several adventure races such as:

“100 MILJA ISTRE”

An international ultratrail race, the only Croatian 100 mile race, that partly traces the Učka Nature Park area, more precisely over Vojak, and ends up in Umag. It takes place in April.

“UČKA TRAIL”

The “Učka Trail” is a traill running competition, but also a peculiar journey through the protected landscape of Učka Nature Park, that offers you the opportunity to see and experience places in which history, tradition, mythology and ancient legends intertwined with the natural beauty making this race special and unforgettable. “Učka Vertical” is a hill race that starts in Medveja, and ends on Vojak peak.

MTB UČKA MARATON

MTB Maraton Učka is included among 10 races of the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series that are being scored for the World Cup. The startin and ending point of the race are in Lovran, while the route goes through the Učka Nature Park.

“GIRO DI MARUNADA”

The “Giro di marunada” is a traditional bike race that leads the cyclists through centuries-old sweet chestnut forests, and is held in the time of the Marunada manifestation. The starting point is in Lovran, the route goes through Liganj and Lovranska Draga and ends up in Dobreć.

The griffon vulture feeding site

…that griffon vultures, endangered in Croatia, are often flying over Učka in search for food? Once they were nesting here, but today their northern-Adriatic population is decreasing and in order to help in their preservation, a feeding site was build in Učka Nature Park, popularly called 'griffon vulture restaurants'.

The „Two towers“ trail

…that in 2018 a trail named „Two towers“ was established, which connects the town tower in Lovran with the Vojak tower on Učka? The trail goes through the existing hiking trail, and alongside there are educational boards that inform visitors on the flora and fauna of Učka.

The Roman cheese

…that it is traditional on Učka to produce the „molded“ sheep cheese of distinctive taste since the Roman Empire time? Its production was standardized due to its use in the nutrition of the Roman legions, while today's cheese made on Učka doesn't differ much from its antique ancestor.

Slavic mythology

…that the Mošćenička Draga's canyon used to be the scenery of sacred beliefs for the first Slavic settlers on the Kvarner area? The local toponyms like Perun, Babin grob and Voloski kuk witness about the old Slavic cult of Perun.
